– He’s like a hub for me. It sticks to a tree, it even looks nice at first, but then drainage starts and after some time such a tree dies. After all, he never invested his money in any club, did not take any risk, but rather the main goal was and is to earn. Legion is the best example of this, but not only Legia, in subsequent clubs where he appeared, it was similar – said Dariusz about Bogusław Leśnodorski Mioduski. – That is why his public statements about Legia and its finances are embarrassing, especially since a lot could be said about what the club’s money was for during its presidency – commented in an interview with WP Sportowe Fakty.
Mioduski: “My biggest mistake is that I didn’t start this project alone”
Later he added: My biggest mistake was that I didn’t start this project alone, from scratch. – I do not deny that, as the president, he did a good job in several respects, which brought sports successes. Only our results in Europe, including gr± w Champions League, have not been forged into anything permanent, no foundation has been built. I was the majority owner at the time and as the person responsible for the club’s future, I couldn’t accept that. I have invested tens of millions of zlotys in the club and I have to look at its situation and development in the long term – he described Mioduski.
During the term of office of Dariusz Mioduski, Legia has already tried four times to advance to the group stage of the European cups, but each time it failed, and many fans believe that he should resign from the position of club president and give it to someone who is more oriented in the management of Legia from the sports side.
“I do not intend to resign as president. I have to be sure that the club will go in the direction I want”
Mioduski was asked if he had any thoughts about resigning as president Laws. – I do not intend to resign from this function in the near future. For me, the operational function is a burden, but I have to be sure that the club will go in the direction I want. (…) I imagine that in the future someone will relieve me, both in strictly sports and operational matters in the commercial part, and I will again deal with strategic matters, including international and further development of the club – he explained.
Dariusz Mioduski has been the owner of Legia since 2014. Two years earlier, he joined the club’s supervisory board. On March 22, 2017, he bought it from Bogusław Leśnodorski and Maciej Wandzel 40 percent. shares in Legia Holding, after which he became the sole owner and president of the club.
