Where Annemarie managed to keep her head cool tonight in the new episode of Million Dollar Hunt on SBS6, the tension in the studio was very noticeable. The 52-year-old company doctor from Aalsmeer played round after round, but each time was not satisfied with the bank’s offer. In the end, her perseverance was rewarded and Annemarie went home 182,500 euros richer.

Annemarie is 52 years old, but has recently started a new education. She is already a company doctor, but wants to broaden her knowledge by studying integrative medicine. Of course that costs a lot of money, so Annemarie hopes to be able to spend part of the money won on that. But her wishes don’t stop there. She really wants to open her own practice and if possible also buy a piece of land to build tiny houses with friends.

Where other participants from Million Dollar Hunt often have a tactical number in their head to choose as a ‘lucky suitcase’, the number just comes out of the blue with Annemarie. ,,I thought about it briefly, but quickly stopped thinking, because I can’t figure it out anyway. I’ll see.” The rest of the evening she decides to play without any premeditation.

Annemarie starts the first round in good spirits, but immediately plays away the 750,000 euros. But that shouldn’t spoil the fun: she only plays low amounts after that. The bank therefore immediately offers a substantial amount of 47,000 euros. But, as presenter Linda de Mol says, ‘nobody presses the button after the first round’ and Annemarie quickly opts for No Deal.

Dream scenario
In the second round, Annemarie again only plays low amounts. ,,This is a dream scenario”, responds Linda de Mol. The bank is already offering 147,000 euros, but Annemarie is confident that she can increase the amount and is not satisfied with the bank’s offer. She also does not accept the offer of 197,000 euros in the third round.

Where Annemarie was very lucky in the first few rounds, the fourth round immediately starts with a downer: she loses the 5 million euros. ,,I saw it happen, that we could see an amount of six outs,” Linda de Mol reacts. But that’s no longer the case. The bank offers only 69,000 euros. A shame, but Annemarie chooses again No Deal and plays happily.

Many people would have stopped by now, but even in rounds five, six and seven Annemarie, on Linda’s advice, is not satisfied with the bank’s offer. Annemarie still has the amount of 500,000 euros and according to Linda her suitcase is ‘worth more than a ton anyway’.

The perseverance is eventually rewarded, because in the eighth round Annemarie gets the chance to win 182,500 euros. ,,Somewhere I would still dare to take a gamble,” she says. “But I think this is wonderful. So I think I’m just going to do this.” After eight rounds (the most played of this season) she chooses Deal and goes home 182,500 euros richer.
