Dallas “Mavericks”, represented by Latvian basketball player Kristaps Porziņģis, beat the Cleveland “Cavaliers” 124: 97 on Sunday. Liepāja was not in the game, according to the National Basketball Association (NBA).
Porziņģis is unable to help the team for a long time due to a knee injury. He is already training with the ball, but it is not clear when the Liepaja player could return to the standings.
Tim Hardard junior was the top scorer in Dallas with 25 points.
In turn, Colin Sexton scored 24 points in the Cleveland team.
At the beginning of the second half, Mavericks team leader Luka Dončičs was expelled from the field for an unsportsmanlike shot. After the game, the Slovene admitted that the violation had been committed, but added that it was not intentional.
“After I saw the video, I knew I hit him, but it was nothing on purpose. I think that kind of stuff happens a lot in the games, but I don’t know. That’s my explanation. It obviously was not on purpose.”
