Dakahlia Health: examining 25,000 women since the beginning of the Presidential Initiative for Maternal and Fetal Health

Dr. Saad Makki, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Dakahlia, announced that about 25,000 women have been examined since the launch of the Maternal and Fetal Health Initiative, which is one of the 100 million health initiatives. The initiative aims to early detection of the pregnant mother, one of three serious infections transmitted to the fetus and causing serious symptoms, namely Hepatitis B And HIV and syphilis, in addition to reducing maternal deaths resulting from these diseases.

Makki explained that the initiative includes a “clinical examination” to assess the general condition of pregnant women over 18 years of age and the condition of the fetus and to discover risk factors that may accompany pregnancy in accordance with the protocol applied from maternal and child care to follow up pregnant women through a trained medical team while maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of data. He explained that the service is provided by 350 units and a family medicine center in the governorate.

Makki called on all pregnant women to go to the units concerned with the initiative to check on their health and protect the fetus, explaining that in the event that the mother was infected, he would be referred directly to the hospital designated to receive the necessary treatment protocol..

This came under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and the directives of Dr. Hala Zayed, Minister of Health.
