Daisy Ridley no longer gets roles after ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’

Accepting an all-important leading role in a franchise has great advantages for many actors, but also disadvantages. The role will stick to the actor forever. Just think of Hayden Christensen (Anakin Skywalker), Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) and Elijah Wood (Frodo Baggins).

Actress Daisy Ridley, who has appeared as Rey in the Star Wars sequels in recent years, seems to be facing a similar luxury problem. She’s been struggling to find a job since Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker from 2019.

Not many roles after The Rise of Skywalker
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, she said: “When the movie was released, I thought, ‘Oh my God.’ It was such a huge chapter and I haven’t had much to do in the last few months. “

“Strangely enough, nothing came my way at the beginning of the year. I was like, ‘Aww! Nobody wants to hire me,” said Ridley. “There were actually a lot of things I auditioned for at the beginning of the year and I didn’t get any.”

Yet she does have roles. She will be featured in the game Twelve Minutes, from Oculus Quest VR-film Baby Yaga and the TV series Islanders. These are of course not really big roles. However, the action movie is Chaos Walking also with Tom Holland on the shelf.
