Japanese Conductor daisuke soga to Mark 60th Birthday with Romanian Premiere
Brasov, Romania – celebrated Japanese conductor Daisuke Soga will celebrate his 60th birthday with a commemorative concert on November 13th at the Salapatria hall in Brasov, Romania. The performance,featuring the Brasov Philharmonic Orchestra,will include the world premiere of soga’s “Concerto for double bass and orchestra ‘Enescu Style'”.
Soga, widely recognized as one of Japan’s most prominent artists in Romania, has fostered cultural exchange between the two nations for years. He previously led the Brasov Philharmonic’s successful 2017 tour of Japan and was awarded the Foreign Minister’s Commendation in August 2021 for his contributions to Japan-Romania understanding, including initiating exchanges with Musashino City. The November 13th concert underscores his ongoing commitment to Romanian musical life and marks a notable milestone in his conducting career.
The program will also feature works by Georges Enescu (“Unison Prelude” from Suite No. 1 Op.3, Romanian Rhapsody No. 2 in D Major Op.11-2, and Romanian Rhapsody No. 1 in A Major Op.11-1) and Paul Richter (suite No.2 in F major “Carpathia” Op.85). Double bass soloist Botond Kosteillac, formerly principal of the Orchester National de Lyon and a professor at the Vienna University of Music, will join the orchestra.
