Daihatsu in Japan recalled the Daihatsu Rocky. The reason, there is a problem in the ECU.
The Daihatsu Rocky that was recalled in Japan is the hybrid version of the Rocky. This type of car has not been marketed in Indonesia. In Indonesia, Daihatsu has only sold Rocky with a 1,000 cc turbo engine and a 1,200 cc engine.
Quoted from the official Daihatsu Japan website, the problem that caused the Daihatsu Rocky to be recalled was in the ECU program which was probably not quite right. Mentioned, the engine can stop operating while the vehicle is being driven.
This problem causes the check engine light to appear on the instrument panel. In addition, vehicle acceleration will also be reduced.
If the car continues to be driven with the problematic engine condition, it may not last long until the battery runs out. The e-Smart Hybrid system on Rocky uses a gasoline engine as an electric generator. This hybrid system uses a gasoline engine only to generate electricity to be stored in the battery. The gasoline engine is not in charge of driving the wheels.
Improvements that Daihatsu must make are modifying the program on the ECU for all cars affected by the recall.

According to Daihatsu Japan, the recalled Daihatsu Rocky was 3,421 units. The car affected by the recall is the Rocky Hybrid, which was produced between November 1 and December 23, 2021.
