Dachshund parade commemorates the ’72 Olympics in Munich

Munich: The Bavarian state capital is commemorating the Olympic Games in 1972 with several activities. A parade is planned for the morning from the art area in Maxvorstadt to the lake in the Olympic Park. Clubs, school classes, musicians and, as an eye-catcher, the figure of a colorful giant dachshund belong to the parade. He is reminiscent of the dachshund Waldi, who was the mascot of the games 50 years ago. Around 150 real dachshunds should also run along. The parade is the start of an Olympics festival that will last into next weekend.
