During this international break, there are short-term changes to plans for some national players. This is especially true for the four Czechs who play in the Bundesliga. Initially, it was planned that Jirí Pavlenka (SV Werder Bremen), Vladimír Darida (Hertha BSC), Patrik Schick (Bayer Leverkusen) and Pavel Kaderábek (TSG Hoffenheim) only take part in the first World Cup qualifier against Estonia.
After the game on Wednesday evening, in which all four were in the starting eleven and helped their team to a 6-2 win, they initially returned to their clubs. But they won’t stay there long: like him kicker reported, the quartet will return to the Czech national team in the next few days and take part in the qualifier against Wales on Tuesday.
No use in the second game against Belgium
It remains to be seen whether the four players will travel to Cardiff after their colleagues on Monday or join the team in Prague on Sunday and then travel with them. The stopover in the Czech Republic would now be possible because the Robert Koch Institute has meanwhile lifted the classification as a “virus variant area” for the country.
However, since this change to the RKI is only officially valid from Sunday, the players will not take part in the game against Belgium on Saturday evening in Prague.
