A cyclist died on Saturday evening after a collision with a car in Heusden. That happened on the Nieuwe Maasdijk.
The accident happened around 8 a.m. on a stretch of road where there are no streetlights. Several emergency services, including a trauma helicopter, came to the scene of the accident. The cyclist was resuscitated, but died on the spot. The driver of the car escaped unharmed.
The road was closed after the collision. Police are investigating exactly how the accident happened. The driver was taken to the police station for further investigation.
