Research director Cyberpunk 2077 Paweł Sasko answered the portal’s question as part of the Italian Lucca Comics & Games exhibition Game gurus about the state of mind in CD Projekt RED regarding Russian gamers.
Recall that in early March, CD Projekt (the parent company of CD Projekt RED) suspended selling their games in Russia, while also providing technical support to domestic players and maintaining groups on social networks continued.
GameGuru in this context was interested “the most honest, direct and non-corporate answer” from “People who work on games, no [отмашка] from a company car”.
According to Sasko, developers make games for people. And for CD Projekt RED, as creators, it is extremely important to offer players the same emotions “let them have memorable experiences, go through incredible stories”.
Sasko is also no exception for Russians: “This is what we want to give to people. A feeling, a strong feeling of something beautiful. And that goes for all players, it goes for everyone. And, including, for players from Russia”.
“And when I make games, I never think about the transfer market. What market is it for, what people, what is the agenda in the world now… We don’t even discuss it.”Sasko assured GameGuru reporters.
Currently CD Projekt RED is busy several games, including the new The Witcher, the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077 and the addition of Phantom Liberty to the first part. Add on exit in 2023 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X and S, but will not be available for purchase in Russia.
