CD Projekt Red tells us this week that updated versions of Cyberpunk 2077 are in preparation for the next-gen, but will not tip their noses when the two consoles are launched.
The next-gen game will arrive “later“, while PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X officially hit the market. When the time comes, Cyberpunk 2077 will then benefit from an updated version for new generations of consoles. Michal Nowakowski, Vice President of Business Development whose remarks are reported by VGC, however, recalls the cross-gen functionality of the Xbox Series X.
As for Microsoft’s console, as I said, we have officially confirmed both the cross-gen update and availability, which means you’ll be able to play the game from the start on the next generation. However, regarding a full and full version for the next generation, which will come late, we have not announced when and I have not yet commented on it.
But a fix will be available for anyone buying the Xbox One version from the start; once this update goes online, they can download it for free.
Regarding the PlayStation 5, Nowakowski considers it preferable not to pronounce officially.
There is no official announcement from Playstation so we really can’t confirm or deny anything. Playstation must first address these issues.
