Culture. Zelda, little reading champion

Zelda swallowed all seven Harry Potter books in two months of confinement. The young 11-year-old Thionville, a priori insatiable, also won the 1is prize of the departmental competition for small reading champions. A national competition offered locally by the media library, a cultural third place, Puzzle in Thionville. The participants, CM2 students, were instructed to read a text of their choice for three minutes aloud. Zelda had chosen the first two paragraphs of 35 kilos of hope written by Anna Gavalda.

Fourteen classes took part in the project on the Metz and Thionville sectors this year. The fourteen best schoolchildren have been selected. But the Covid-19 epidemic halted the momentum. The children could not be heard live, in April as expected. The parents had to film their performance. An improvised jury, made up of Puzzle directors, received eight videos and established the ranking.

This Wednesday, September 30, the prizes were given to the children who competed. Yasmine, Shainneze, Janna, Oussama, Louis, Eva, Capucine and Zelda left with a reading kit. The godmother of this edition and youth author, Claudine Aubrun, also sent them a word… by video, of course.
