Culture: Anklamer cinema wants to show more films from MV

Filmland Vorpommern: While two new episodes of the “Usedom crime story” are being worked on on the island of Usedom, shooting is being carried out around and in Pasewalk for the feature film “Schlamassel”, which focuses on the intern at a local newspaper.

And when it comes to filmmaking in the region, Matthias Karstädt, one of the two operators of the Anklam cinema, is often not far away. He is expected to have a brief appearance as an extra in the film “Schlamassel”.

He came to this again through Anklamer Ole Koehler, who is there as a production manager assistant and who in turn most recently stood in front of the camera for the second part of the filming of the adventures of Alfons Zitterbacke on Usedom, among other places. Last but not least, he has already put together a film with his schoolmates, which was shown on the first evening of the premiere in Anklam.

Good experiences with domestic productions

So there’s a lot going on in terms of film in the region and throughout the Northeast. Matthias Karstädt now wants it to be shown on the screen in the Anklamer cinema. Therefore he intends to show more films in the future that are set in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania or at least were made there. It’s already starting with the highly acclaimed novel adaptation “Nobody is with the calves” (from March 24) that has been nominated for numerous awards.

According to Matthias Karstädt, the Anklam cinema is one of the few in the region showing this film. And there is a good reason for that, because so far he has only had good experiences with films from the near and far region.

For example, at the two Anklam premiere evenings with small, local productions and also with the documentary “Who does my village belong to?”, which deals with the change in a place on the island of Rügen. “It went pretty well,” stated Matthias Karstädt.

“Summer ’94” and “Schamassel” firmly in sight

Now other films from the region are to follow. Among other things, “Summer ’94” could be shown in the summer, for which young people from the region were filmed last year in the Anklam area (North Kurier reported).

And of course “Schlamassel” should probably be shown in the Anklamer cinema in the coming year, at least that’s what he promised the director Sylke Enders, says Matthias Karstädt.
