Slovak handball players will meet Germany, Hungary and the Czech Republic in the basic E-group at the World Cup 2021 in Spain. It was decided by Thursday’s night draw in the town of Castellón de la Plana. The Slovaks figured with him in the weakest fourth basket in terms of performance.

They will present themselves at the championship after being awarded a free card, which they received from IHF together with Poland. Both countries had previously failed to agree on a promotion to the World Cup.
For Slovaks, this will be the first start at the top event in seven years, when they participated in the 2014 European Championships in Hungary and Croatia.
They will perform at the World Championships for the second time in the era of independence, 26 years have passed since their last start so far – they finished twelfth in 1995 at the championships in Austria and Hungary.
From the elite first basket, coaches Pavel Streicher were pulled out by Nemka, from the second by the Hungarian and from the third by the Czech. The World Championships will take place from 2 to 19 December 2021, with venues from Castellón, Granollers, Llíria and Torrevieja. Up to 32 teams will present themselves for the first time, the draw has divided them into eight four-member basic groups.
