MIDDELBURG – Dozens of people gathered on Sunday in the Middelburg district of Dauwendaele to hold a silent march for the recently deceased Tim. The 15-year-old boy was stabbed to death a week ago.
The silent tour started around 2 p.m. on the corner of Meanderlaan and De Overloper, the place where 15-year-old Middelburger was seriously injured on Sunday. The teenager died on Wednesday in the children’s hospital in Rotterdam. The police say they quickly had a view on two suspects, but they could not be arrested until around 6.15 pm on Wednesday evening. It happened in the same neighborhood where the stabbing happened. The suspects, boys of 15 and 16 years old and living in Rilland and Steenbergen, were brought before the examining magistrate on Friday. He decided to keep the boys for two more weeks.
At the site of the stabbing, flowers and stuffed animals were placed this afternoon by the participants in the tour. The crowd then walked around Dauwendaele.
