The music for crop insurance reform is beginning to take shape. And suggests that it will not be as restrictive as expected for insurers. The latter may not be immediately forced to cooperate within the framework of a “group”, according to a draft ordinance text to which “Les Echos” had access. Much to the chagrin of some insurers.
Adopted at the start of the year, the reform of crop insurance is part of the new government’s ongoing projects. While the drought and the repeated storms of recent weeks have come to remind us of the vulnerability of farmers to the vagaries of the climate, the Prime Minister, Elisabeth Borne, has promised to apply the reform from next January.
