Crocodiles Hamburg already in third place

Reading time: approx. 3 minutes

That was a surprise for the Hamburger Crocos, in the end maybe even a bit of a disappointment. Surprise because they are now in third place, thanks to the home defeat of Tilburg against Halle. Disappointment because the people of Krefeld could not implement their superiority in Herne and lost. If they had won, the Elbe townspeople would now be down to two.

In general, the Oberliga Nord can now be divided into five groups. Right at the front, completely alone, the Hannover Scorpions are enthroned with a 16 point lead. The chasing group is led by the Herner in front of Hamburg and Tilburg. Group three, the real midfield, sees the Icefighters Leipzig in front, in front of the Saale Bulls Halle and the Hannover Indians. Group four, which is mainly about qualifying for the play-offs, are led by Krefeld, ahead of Erfurt, Herford, Rostock and Diez-Limburg. Group five, like group one, consists of only one club and that is the hammer polar bears.

Tilburg Trappers – Saale Bulls Hall 3: 4 (1: 2, 1: 1, 1: 1)

The Bulls showed themselves well recovered from their home defeat against the leaders in their away game in Tilburg. The defense in particular was always up to date throughout the entire season and with their quick counterattacks they successfully spoiled the afternoon for the Dutch. After the Finns in Halle had shone on Friday, this time the German parliamentary group was again in a donor mood. Next to goalkeeper Jan Urbisch, Jannek Striepeke brought the Bulls into the lead in the ninth minute and Valtteri Hotakainen built this up to 2-0 in the 13th minute. Only Max Hermens was able to do justice to the optical superiority of the Trappers in the first third with his goal. When Diego Hofland equalized in the 25th minute, the Trappers seemed to be on course for victory, but the disciplined Bulls remained dangerous at all times and promptly took the lead again in the 34th minute through Sergei Stas. Max Hermens equalized with the first attack in the third period, but against the fourth goal of the guests, scored by Finn Walkowiak (54th), the Tilburg team were powerless.

Crocodiles Hamburg – Herford EV 5: 2 (1: 0, 1: 1, 3: 1)

Equipped with a lot of self-confidence, the Herforders came to Hamburg and they fought splendidly. Only in penalty killing did they show only limited league format and that was ultimately decisive for the Hamburg success. The Crocodiles scored 1-0 (12th) through Dennis Reimer, 2-1 through Thomas Zuravlev (36th) and 4-2 through Patrick Saggau (57th) and achieved a power play rate of 50 percent, while the Herford team had to book the same number for their penalty killing. Dominik Lascheit scored the other Hamburg goals in the 55th minute and Thomas Zuravlev in the final minute. Marius Garten (25th) and Ralf Rinke (54th) were successful for the strong Herford team.

Hammer Eisbären – Icefighters Leipzig 2: 3 (0: 2, 2: 1, 0: 0)

Once again the people of Leipzig made life difficult for themselves. Although it was highly superior in places, in the end there was even a shot ratio of 51:29, it was only a laborious 3: 2. The start was entirely to the taste of the guests. Florian Eichelkraut put the Icefighters in front in the fourth minute. Hubert Berger increased to 2-0 in the 16th minute. In the second third the hammer came back into play when Kevin Orendorz (26th) brought them up to 1: 2. Moritz Israel scored the “Game Winning Goal” in the 29th minute and in the 32nd minute the gavel shortened again. Gianluca Balla put an assist from Orendorz in the goal of Leipzig goalkeeper Patrick Glatzel. After this fifth goal, both teams, but especially the Icefighters, gained some opportunities, but failed each time on the opposing goalkeeper.

Herner EV – Krefelder EV U23 3: 1 (0: 0, 1: 0, 2: 1)

The times in which the Krefelders had to fight off a permanent siege of their gate are finally over. Business is now the other way around, only when scoring goals, the guys from KEV trainer Elmar Schmitz still have a hard time. In Herne, too, they were overwhelmingly superior in places, but the clever Herner, who in turn had one of their match winners in Björn Linda, countered the guests and in the end brought in a happy but not undeserved victory. Already in the first twenty minutes the Krefeld team were superior, but it stayed at 0-0. Only in the 38th minute was Hernes Colton Kehler (38th) able to put an end to goal abstinence. The same player scored 2-0 in the 48th minute, before Patrick Demetz put on a certain tension again with his 2-1 in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, it was Demetz who received a penalty just one minute after his goal, which was punished 3-1 by Patrick Asselin (58th) just nine seconds later.
