As expected, a day before the release, Western gaming portals published their reviews of the remake of the space horror Dead Space from Electronic Arts and developers from its Motive studio.
By the time of publication, Dead Space (that’s the name of the new version) on the Metacritic website has already collected more than 70 reviews: the version for PS5 accounted for 52 materials, PC — 17, and on Xbox Series X и S – 9. The rating of the game is 87-89%.
According to the plot, the entire crew of the Ishimura ship was infected with alien filth. Engineer Isaac Clarke has to fight back against the monsters. They promised the spirit of the original source, a talking protagonist, improved gameplay and graphics on Frostbite.

Reviewers praised Ishimura’s seamlessness, system “stress operator”, a visual upgrade, increased cinematography, expansion of the plot and the addition of secret ending.
Among the minuses are problems with the pace of the story, some conservatism of the remake concept, monotonous quests, lack of a photo mode and technical problems (performance, bugs).
The journalists decided that the Dead Space remake is the best version of the cult game, whose age sometimes betrays the design of 15 years ago. As much revelation as rethinking Resident Evil 2the new release did not, but The Callisto Protocol he left behind.
