Wednesday influencer Flo Windey announced that she is leaving the program. She referred to the lack of diversity. “I’m already trying to tackle diversity and inclusion in the media. To do better. And this was clearly not an accurate representation of that, ”she wrote on Twitter.
She also acknowledged that the project’s timing was unfortunate. Quite a few young people thought it was wrong that the influencers did fun things with eight in a house, which they cannot do due to the corona measures. “The corona crisis is weighing on all young people and it was insensitive of me to stop thinking about it,” said Windey.

Corona rules for TV productions
The makers explained that they follow the corona rules for TV productions, such as with TV programs such as “Big Brother”, but now press the pause button to make adjustments. The influencers will stay in the house, but no new episodes of “The Social House” will be published on YouTube Thursday and Friday.
“Of course it was never our intention to hurt people. If that would have happened, we would like to apologize for it, ”the production house said in a written response. “Behind the scenes we take enough time to get even better advice and to prepare further.”
The makers say they will have discussions with experts about corona, mental well-being in young people and diversity. Subjects and assignments are evaluated to be “even more socially relevant”. “We are already in talks to further expand our editing and research,” he says.
