Criticism of the energy transition: In Poland, climate activists fear the German exit from nuclear power

ACreative activists from Poland demonstrate for the preservation of nuclear power – in Germany. Urszula Kuczynska and her colleagues from Fota-4-Climate see the nuclear catastrophe one step closer with every nuclear power plant that goes offline. Like the demonstrators of Fridays for Future in Germany, they are calling for decarbonization, i.e. a massive expansion of renewable energies, in order to limit the global rise in temperature – with the difference that the Polish activists believe that it will not do anything if Germany at the same time does nothing of nuclear energy passed.

They consider the energy turnaround – the phase-out of coal-fired power generation and nuclear power to be impossible, even more so: they see German climate policy as a danger to Poland.
