Cristiano Ronaldo is said to have prevented Antonio Conte

Cristiano Ronaldo is said to have prevented Antonio Conte from signing Manchester United to succeed ex-coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at the end of October. That reports the Manchester Evening News. Accordingly, the superstar had no desire for the Italian.

One of the reasons for this is said to have been that Ronaldo, given his age of 37, would have refused a significantly higher training load. The newspaper also claims that this example would not only reveal the club’s poor planning, but also hierarchical problems.

The club management only rejected a preferred candidate to flatter Ronaldo and to meet the expectations of the multiple world footballer. Antonio Conte then moved to Tottenham Hotspur, while Manchester United hired Ralf Rangnick as interim coach.

While the Spurs finished fourth and thus qualified for the Champions League, the Red Devils clearly missed out on participating in the premier class with sixth place and 13 points behind. From the summer, Erik ten Hag will take over as coach at the English record champions.
