Doha: There is uncertainty as to whether Portugal star Cristiano Ronaldo will play against South Korea in Friday’s final qualifying round match. Coach Fernando Santos said there is a 50% chance Cristiano will be eliminated.
Cristiano did not participate in team training on Wednesday. He was busy with other workouts at the gym. There are also reports that Cristiano Ronaldo could be rested if Portugal secure the quarter-finals even if he is not injured.
Having secured the pre-quarters by winning their first two games, Portugal will be looking to qualify as group winners by winning or drawing. The match is at 8.30pm.
