For many it has become a cherished tradition: Millions of households tune in to the new episode of “Tatort” in Das Erste on Sunday evening at 8.15 p.m. We provide an overview of the new episodes for 2021 and other interesting information about the popular crime series.

“Tatort” has been the Germans’ favorite series for over 50 years. The first episode “Taxi to Leipzig” was broadcast on November 29, 1970 – over 1100 episodes of “Tatort” have now appeared.

Broadcast dates: When will the new episodes of “Tatort” run in 2021?

March 7th at 8:15 pm in the first: New “crime scene” from Kiel. In “Borowski and the fear of the white men” the inspectors Klaus Borowski (Axel Milberg) and Mila Sahin (Almila Bagriacik) investigate.
March 21st at 8:15 pm in the first: New “crime scene” from Cologne. In “Like everyone else”, the inspectors Max Ballauf (Klaus Behrendt) and Freddy Schenk (Dietmar Bär) determine.
March 28th at 8:15 pm in the first: New “Tatort” from Austria. In “Die Amme” the inspectors Moritz Eisner (Harald Krassnitzer) and Bibi Fellner (Adele Neuhauser) investigate.
April 5th at 8:15 pm in the first: New “crime scene” from Saarbrücken. In “The Lord of the Forest”, the inspectors Adam Schürk (Daniel Sträßer) and Leo Hölzer (Vladimir Burlakov) investigate their second joint case.

Where is the “crime scene” broadcast in the stream?

The “Tatort” episodes run on Sundays at 8.15 p.m. in the first. Parallel to the TV broadcast, you can also follow the episodes in the live stream in the ARD media library. If you miss the beginning of an episode, you can rewind the live stream up to 30 minutes.

In addition, following the TV broadcast, the program is available as video on demand in the media library. There is also a large selection of older episodes to watch there.

Which investigative teams are there at the “crime scene”?

Some of the investigative teams from the “crime scene” have been with us for decades, but new commissioners are always being added.

A total of 102 investigators have been on duty so far, most of them on the team. You work in different cities, for example in Hamburg and Berlin, and sometimes they even meet in the different episodes.
