Crime – Offenbach am Main – 120,000 euros damage: E-bike theft in three cities – Panorama

Offenbach (dpa / lhe) – At least 21 e-bikes with a total value of around 120,000 euros were stolen in three cities within one night. The procedure in Steinau an der Straße, Gelnhausen and Babenhausen was similar in all three cases, the police said on Wednesday. The perpetrators therefore first threw in the window of the shops with a manhole cover on Wednesday night and then let bicycles go out of the shop. In Steinau an der Straße, the thieves stole seven e-bikes. Around 40 minutes later, nine bicycles were stolen in Gelnhausen, and around two hours later five bicycles were stolen in Babenhausen.

In Babenhausen two men were seen loading the bikes into a van and fled to the city center, it said. The investigators are now checking whether there is a connection between the acts and are looking for witnesses.
