Freiburg (dpa / lsw) – A young woman has accused the police in Freiburg of inappropriate behavior during an ID check. The officers used violence on Sunday night for no reason. She was shocked, said the 20-year-old in a video on Instagram. The police just had to talk to her normally and she would have shown her ID. She hopes for an apology. A video clip shows how two police officers tried to control them and lead them from a square in the city center. When she tried to pull away, the two officers grabbed her. On the way from the square, the woman fell to the ground. First of all, the SWR reported.
According to the police, around 300 people gathered in small groups on a square in Freiburg on Saturday evening and played music. Eight to ten people, to whom the young woman belonged, had held a loud alcohol drinking game for hours, said the head of the Reviere department at the Freiburg police headquarters, Gabriel Winterer, on Tuesday.
The police officers asked the group several times to be quieter, to adhere to the corona distance rules and ultimately to issue reprimands that were not followed. “The group did not cooperate,” said Winterer. The woman asked the police several times to leave, so that they wanted to see her ID at around 2:30 a.m. She was then taken to the nearby guard. After her personal details were determined, the 20-year-old was allowed to leave. Winterer said every allegation would be carefully examined.
Most recently there had been police violence in Düsseldorf and Frankfurt. The cases are being investigated.
