“Crazy Southampton vs Liverpool Match Ends in 4-4 Draw, Reds Manager Klopp Not Happy”

Jakarta

Southampton vs Liverpool which finished 4-4 was very entertaining for the audience, but not for Juergen Klopp. The Reds manager called the game crazy, aka crazy.

Southampton vs Liverpool took place at St Mary’s Stadium, Sunday (28/5/2023) evening WIB. The Reds led 2-0 first through Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino.

Soton did not remain silent and forced the first half to finish 2-2. The goals for the hosts were scored by James Ward-Prowse and Kamal-Deen Sulemana.

Liverpool were knocked out by Soton in the second half. Soton lead 4-2 through Sulemana and Adam Armstrong.

“Crazy game, to be honest a bit too crazy for my taste. The start was really good, the finish was amazing, the middle wasn’t good enough, it was that easy,” Klopp told the BBC.

“We gave Southampton a chance. We opened the door, they were obviously ready. I have to say, Southampton seems to be a very good club, the whole atmosphere, you can feel why this is an important club.”

Soton’s advantage lasted only a very short time. Liverpool were able to balance it to 4-4 through Cody Gakpo and Diogo Jota. The two goals occurred within one minute.

“Going down 4-2 and coming back like we did, I really liked. Last matchday a lot of people might think that now. But the lads really did. 4-4, eight goals, for the people it was very entertaining. I don’t really enjoyed it,” Klopp emphasized.

This result makes Liverpool close the 2022/2023 season in fifth place in the Premier League standings with 67 points. Soton were relegated to the Championship because they were at the bottom of the standings with 25 points.
