Crazy! China Called Making Superhuman ‘Captain America’

Jakarta, CNBC IndonesiaChina is reportedly developing a test to make a superhuman like the character Captain America. It was reported that the local soldiers would have increased biologically.

The CIA Director, John Ratcliffe, breathed the rumor. Writing in the Wall Street Journal, he stated that the biggest national security threat to the US was China.

“There are no ethical boundaries for Beijing to pursue power,” Ratcliffe was quoted as saying by CNBC International, Friday (3/12/2020). But the CIA remains silent on the details of the idea that China is developing human capabilities into a super soldier.

Previously, the same news was expressed by two American scholars, namely Chinese linguists, defense technology experts at the Center for a New American Security named Elsa Kania and Wilson VornDick, who are consultants on China and the US Navy.

They wrote a paper about China’s ambition to use biotechnology on the battlefield. The report said the country was interested in using gene-editing technology to improve human work, including hoping to improve the performance of soldiers.

The tool that will be used to edit the gene is CRISPR which stands for Cluster of Regularly Interspace Short Palindromic Repeats. This tool has been used to treat gene diseases as well as to modify plants.

Both said that the indication that the Chinese military was exploring superhuman capabilities was very wide open.

“Although the potential use of CRISPR to improve human capabilities on the battlefield is still hypothetical, there are indications that Chinese military researchers are starting to explore its potential,” they wrote.

Ratcliffe advocated for US President-elect Joe Biden to be honest about China. But the NBC News report states that if Biden and his foreign policy advisers do perceive China as a threat, it will unfortunately not be as bluffing as the Trump administration.
