Covid19 L’Aquila, hospital under stress: internal medicine closed as well

Hospital under stress. Outbreak also in Internal Medicine. Unions against managers on the deserted table in the Prefecture for the staff of the sector

In the San Salvatore hospital in L’Aquila, announcements aside, the situation remains very critical.
After the closure of the orthopedics ward for several infections, another outbreak developed in the internal medicine ward which was closed.

No one has confirmed the news from the top but, apparently, there are as many as 20 positive patients and 8 infected among the health personnel.

Everything would have started from a patient who entered negative but probably with ongoing infection and then tested positive.

The fact is that the criticalities are numerous and despite the ASL’s announcement of new doctors, 5, who will serve from Monday, the staff of all departments, those Covid of course in a much higher way, suffer.

Everyone is exhausted, as have been reported by those of Covid medicine who have now also received patients moved from closed internal medicine.

The trade unions have represented the hospital situation several times in recent months and have now intervened, united, also to stigmatize the attitude of the Testa manager who did not appear at the attempt at conciliation for the staff of the sector whose progressions are at risk.

Most have been accused of not being ready after the pandemic spared L’Aquila in the spring.

For now, spaces are being created at Delta 7 also for a long-term ward, a pink room is being created for positive women in childbirth, a room with an artificial kidney machine for dialysis patients with specific paths even if some patients have reported a dangerous promiscuity but, the impression is that now we are running to recover a time in which it could be done.
