The situation in southern Moravia is deteriorating and the coronavirus is gaining strength there. Therefore, some hospitals in the region have banned visits to patients. Others allow visits, but only in compliance with strict measures.
Prohibition of patient visits to wards. This has been introduced with immediate effect by some hospitals in the South Moravian Region in recent days. The reason is the deteriorating coronavirus situation. In some facilities, the ban is even valid for over a week.
“Since October 7, 2021, a ban on visits has been announced at Ivančice Hospital. The inpatient part of the rehabilitation department is temporarily closed due to the epidemiological situation during covid-19.
The situation is the same in the Boskovice hospital, which banned visits from 12 October. Exceptions are granted by doctors only for legal reasons and to fathers who may be present at childbirth. And other measures also apply. “Hospitalized patients cannot leave the ward,” the hospital added on its website.
The ban on visits also applies to the Brno Military Hospital, from 8 October until further notice in all departments. “Due to the unfavorable epidemiological situation, visits to the Brno Military Hospital are prohibited,” the hospital said. People can visit patients in this hospital only in exceptional cases and only in agreement with the attending physician.
Although some hospitals in the region have not yet banned visits, there are restrictive measures. At the hospital in Brno’s Bohunice, people can visit their loved ones only on Wednesdays and Sundays from 15:00 to 17:00. In addition, it must be demonstrated by a negative test, not older than 72 hours in the case of an antigen test, not older than one week in the case of PCR tests, confirmation of vaccination or of the disease which has elapsed in the past 180 days.
In addition, he must have a respirator at all times. The visit lasts a maximum of 30 minutes and only two people can visit the patient at a time.
Similar rules also apply at the Merciful Brothers Hospital in Brno. However, the length of the visit lasts only 20 minutes. In the case of the inpatient department, the visit is authorized by the attending physician with regard to the current situation and patient protection. Stricter measures also apply in hospitals in Tišnov, Znojmo, Břeclav or Vyškov.
However, the epidemic is worsening throughout the Czech Republic. This is also evidenced by the latest additions of those infected. In Friday alone, 1,781 new cases were added, which is the most since 6 May.
