(ANSA) – TERNI, 28 OCT – Covid outbreak in the Terni prison, where there are currently 55 inmates who have tested positive, out of a total of 514 inmates. It is learned from penitentiary sources. Almost all of the infected, all of the high security section, are asymptomatic, but two hospitalizations were also required.

The results of another forty swabs are expected, while about 90 more detainees should be tested tomorrow. At the moment there are no cases of positivity among the staff of the penitentiary police, even this however subjected to screening.

The situation in the Terni prison is constantly monitored by the USL Umbria 2.

At the moment, a Covid section has already been set up inside the prison which could be doubled if the cases, whose updating is constantly becoming, should increase.

All activities with external personnel and visits to detainees are blocked. (HANDLE).
