COVID cases are stagnant or declining in New York

Although the most recent outbreak of COVID-19 in the city is stabilizing, the number of infections and hospitalizations remain high, so the authorities warn that the fight against the virus is not over.

The surgeon general of the United States, Vivek Murthy, indicated that because the Omicron cases began later in other parts of the country, the decline in the wave of infections will occur at different times.

New York is among the states where cases have plateaued or begun to decline.
