New Yorkers over the age of 18 can get a booster dose of the Covid vaccine if they believe they are at high risk of infection.
The announcement was made this Monday during the mayor’s briefing.

Health Commissioner Dr. Dave Chokshi indicated that all city residents face a higher risk of exposure.
Dr. Choski mentioned that risk assessment is often very personal; it depends on where people work, live and what they do. What authorities are now trying to determine is whether there should be filters to access the booster vaccine.
So far, this additional dose was only available for people over 65 and those with high-risk conditions.
