Covid. 51-year-old socio-health worker from Careggi died, she was positive – Chronicle

Florence, 2 December 2020 – A socio-health worker from the Florentine hospital of Careggi died of Covid-19. According to what emerged, the woman, aged 51, she was sick at home and was followed at a distance by the doctors. Her conditions would suddenly worsen leading to her death, which occurred on November 30th.

Condolences for the incident were expressed by the hospital management. On 4 December, the woman’s colleagues from the department, who worked on the CTO’s traumatology and was highly regarded for her professionalism, will observe a minute of silence in her memory. According to what emerged, starting from 5 October to 27 November, 260 employees of the Careggi university hospital were positive coronavirus, including 68 doctors, 96 nurses and 50 social health workers. 54 of the coronavirus positive employees were on duty in the Covid area, 191 in no-Covid areas and 15 in the emergency room. Among the most affected wards that of trauma hospitalization, where 18 cases were recorded. First aid (15 cases) and emergency cardiovascular surgery and transplants (11 cases) follow.
