JAKARTA – A recent study believes that if COVID-19 will become a seasonal disease, once humans attain what is called herd immunity.
According to a study published in the journal Frontiers in Public Health, this condition may not occur in the near future, but in the next few years.
Until then, researchers involved in the study had argued, if COVID-19 will continue to circulate all season long.
Experts from the American University of Beirut in Lebanon said the findings could serve as a reminder to humanity of the importance of controlling the disease caused by SARS-CoV-2.
“People must be able to learn to live with (the threat of corona), and continue to practice the safest ways to prevent (transmission), including wearing masks, social distancing, maintaining hand hygiene and avoiding crowds,” he concluded. (Ruf / fin)
