Covid-19: unprogrammed interventions at Montluçon hospital (Allier)

The Covid-19 epidemic continues to gain ground in the Montluçon basin. Twenty-five patients are currently hospitalized at the hospital, when they were only four on October 15. A fact that pushed the hospital to deprogram some of its activities until further notice.

“Considering the mobilization requested by the regional health agency, the Montluçon hospital center (…) is reorganizing its activities in view of the evolution of the epidemic”, we can read in a press release published on Saturday 24 October .

Deprogramming concerns non-urgent surgical and interventional activities without loss of opportunity for patients. Pediatric activities, consultations (chronic pathologies, oncology) are maintained.

Visits prohibited

Faced with the upsurge in the pandemic, the hospital had already decided, Thursday, October 22, to prohibit visits except with rare exceptions and under certain conditions (see article below).

Likewise, accompanying persons are no longer allowed during consultations, “Except for minors and vulnerable patients”.

Despite the increase in the incidence rate of the virus, the Montluçon hospital center remains, for the time being, “less in tension” than the hospitals of Vichy and Moulins.
