At the European level, the pandemic continues to spread. L’Italy, among all the countries of the Old Continent seems to be the least gripped by the grip of the virus, despite the number of cases having registered a sharp surge. Despite this, for the health authorities there would be nothing critical.

To talk about the current epidemiological picture, Professor Fabrizio Pregliasco, reached by the transmission microphones Agora broadcast on Rai 3. The well-known virologist also spoke of the much feared second wave.

May one occur second wave, it is a fact that we learn when we consider previous pandemics. This is essentially what was reported by the virologist Fabrizio Pregliasco to the microphones of the Agorà transmission. The professor’s tone is serene and he himself is confident but at the same time cautious. “We are able to detect asymptomatic and possible outbreaks. However, if we do not act on the health system, avoiding contact situations, it is plausible to believe that in winter there will be a new surge. This is also due to the fact that schools will be reopened“. In the expert’s opinion, in Italy we cannot speak of a real second wave, rather of fluctuations in the curve dictated by cases of imports from abroad and by the fact that now the virus is hitting young people albeit in a less aggressive way.

Italians will have to live with the virus despite, says Pregliasco, this current movement of widespread thought that defines “heavy and creeping denial”.

The fact that the virus has not disappeared is shown by the data. In fact, yesterday, according to the bulletin released by the Ministry of Health i total cases of contagion since the beginning of the emergency they had risen to 250.566. Of these the currently positive they were 13.263 in total. This meant that 310 cases had occurred within 24 hours. These numbers bring to mind those of a few months ago, when the country was still anxiously awaiting the reopening. Fortunately, admissions to intensive care and deaths are certainly much less than those recorded at the beginning of the emergency.
