MONTREAL – Ontario and Quebec continued to add to Canada’s health crisis on Friday, reporting 111 and 141 new cases, respectively.

Ontario also announced nine more deaths. Since the start of the pandemic, the most populous province in the country has recorded 37,274 COVID-19 infections and 2,746 deaths.
For its part, Quebec has reported 141 additional cases, while there has been a return for a few days in the number of infections after the authorities had asked people who frequented bars to get tested.
To date, 109,518 Canadians have contracted the disease and of these, 8,837 have died. For Thursday alone, there were more than 250 infections and a dozen deaths.
