Covid-19 shoots price of medicines

Mexico City.- In the midst of the health emergency due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Mexican households face a sharp escalation in the price of medicines, in particular, the healing material reported the highest rise in the last 20 years.

In Campeche, anti-inflammatories became more expensive, 14.7%, and in Tabasco, where mainly anti-influenza drugs, 14%.

The laboratories depend on raw materials from abroad, mainly from China, where production slowed down to contain the pandemic, a situation that caused a failure to deliver and a shortage of products.
