COVID-19 report: a first death in August in the Capitale-Nationale | COVID-19 | News | The sun

Lthe region now deplores 196 deaths since the addition of one more on Friday.

This is the first death in the Capitale-Nationale since the beginning of August. It occurred in the community, confirms the Regional Integrated University Health and Social Services Center.

On August 10, however, the CIUSSS recorded two additional deaths on its daily record, but they had occurred earlier, it said.

As for them, the two new positive cases identified in the territory bring to 2031 the number of people affected by the virus since the start of the health crisis. Of these, 1,758 are now considered to be cured, according to data sent by the CIUSSS de la Capitale-Nationale.

In addition, three people are hospitalized in designated hospitals in the region, but none is in intensive care.

The regional public health directorate announced on Thursday the lifting of the outbreak at the CHSLD Le Faubourg. The only “active” focus of COVID-19 in a retirement home in the region is the private residence l’Auberge aux Trois Pignons.

However, no new cases have been confirmed at this establishment since August 10, where a newly infected employee was reported. In total, the Auberge aux Trois Pignons has 21 residents and nine employees affected, as well as four deaths.

Remember that an outbreak is normally closed when no new case has been identified in the establishment over a period of 28 consecutive days.

Chaudière-Appalaches

Just like the day before, the Chaudière-Appalaches region also had two new positive cases on its territory, Friday.

In Chaudière-Appalaches, the number of infected people reached 601 on Friday, of which 581 are considered to have recovered. No one is hospitalized due to COVID-19.

Eight deaths have been listed on the CISSS de Chaudière-Appalaches territory so far, a figure that has remained unchanged since May 4.
