In an online discussion on August 5, 2020, Head of the DKI Jakarta Health Service Widyastuti emphasized that diabetes is one of the main comorbidities among positive patients with Covid-19 in the capital. As a result of diabetes, people with Covid-19 are experiencing worsening health conditions. Apart from diabetes, other comorbidities that can worsen the condition of Covid-19 patients are hypertension, lung disease, heart disease, and dengue fever.
