COVID-19 pandemic | Hope is reborn in New York

New York State

New York State recorded its most encouraging figures in two months on Saturday.

Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that the death toll rescued in the past 24 hours was less than 100, with 86 deaths reported there.

This is the lowest number of daily casualties since the end of March.

Cuomo said other areas of the state may reopen on Wednesday, if the trend remains the same.

American balance sheet

The United States confirmed 1,260 deaths on Friday, a stable daily toll compared to the day before.

The total death toll on American soil is 95,921 since the start of the health crisis: 1.6 million people have been infected so far.

The 50 US states have begun partial and gradual deconfinement, retaining certain restrictions on gatherings, in order to curb the spread of the virus.
