Charles-Le Moyne hospital in Longueuil recorded 17 active cases of COVID-19 from five outbreaks on Friday, confirms Joëlle Jetté, head of information for media relations for the CISSS de la Montérégie-Center.

Visits to the Charles-Le Moyne hospital are limited to the rooms of the infected units “depending on the extent of the outbreak and the patient’s vulnerability”, Joëlle Jetté specifies via email. Visits by caregivers and for humanitarian reasons are still allowed, but under certain conditions.

The hospital also recommends that visitors call ahead to avoid hot spots. Joëlle Jetté recalls that the use of masks, hand washing and physical distancing are mandatory in health facilities.

In the week of September 18, 263 active outbreaks were recorded in the province. Quebec recorded 1,528 hospitalizations and 40 people in intensive care on September 22.
