Mourning for the mother of Minnesota Timberwolves star Karl-Anthony Towns, Jacqueline Cruz-Towns. The 58-year-old dies of the Corona virus, as her family announced on Monday.
The Corona virus was found in both Towns’ mother and father at the end of March. While the father was slowly recovering from the disease, Cruz-Towns’ condition deteriorated so much that she had to be put into artificial deep sleep.
“She was the matriarch of the Towns family, an incredible source of strength,” said the family on the death of Cruz-Towns in a broadcast. Karl-Anthony Towns announced Corona on March 25 in an emotional Instagram video.
