Covid-19 / Morocco: 67 healings, two deaths and 244 new cases in 24 hours, 11,877 in total

244 new cases of infection with the new coronavirus have been recorded during the last 24 hours until Saturday June 27 at 5 p.m., bringing the total toll to 11,877, said Hind Ezzine, Head of the epidemic diseases department at the Directorate of epidemiology under the authority of the Ministry of Health, during a press briefing given in the late afternoon.

These new cases have been identified in the following regions: Casablanca-Settat (75), Laayoune-Sakia Al Hamra (62), Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (52), Marrakech-Safi (22), Fès-Meknès (23) , Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (5), Béni Mellal Kénifra (2), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (2), Guelmim-Oued Noun (1). The other regions did not record any case of infection, specifies the person in charge.

The manager also reported 67 new healings during the past 24 hours. The total number of people declared cured now stands at 8,723, or a cure rate of 73.4%.

Otherwise, two new deaths have been recorded in the last 24 hours. The total number of deaths is 220 since the start of the epidemic. The case fatality rate is therefore 1.9%.

As for active cases, their number now stands at 2,934, of which 21 are in serious or critical condition, she said, adding that 9,199 contact cases are still under medical supervision.

The number of cases excluded after negative results of laboratory tests is 621,617 since the virus started, the same source added.
