Covid-19: more than 70% of EsSalud insured received three doses of the vaccine | News

From February 2021 to date, 30 million 140,258 doses of the covid-19 vaccine were applied to 11 million 73,829 insured nationwide, of which 71.8% (7 million 950,729 people) have all three doses of the antigen reported EsSalud.

The executive president of EsSalud, Gino Dávila Herrera, specified that, of the total number of vaccines applied, 10 million 260,881 doses correspond to the first dose; 9 million 969,210 to the second dose; 7 million 950,729 to the third dose, while the fourth dose was applied to one million 959,438 people.

He highlighted that the largest number of doses was applied to the population between 30 and 39 years old, an age range that received 5 million 731,026 doses, between the first, second, third and fourth doses, that is, 94.1% of insured persons considered between these ages are protected against coronavirus.

Other age ranges in which health personnel placed more doses are 40 to 49 years old, 5 million 110,109 doses (95.3%); from 18 to 29 years old, 4 million 799,983 doses (93.4%) and from 50 to 59 years old, 3 million 984,390 doses (94.4%).

Likewise, 2 million 995,008 doses were applied (between the first, second, third and fourth doses) to the insured from 60 to 69 years old; 2 million 604,742 doses to adolescents from 12 to 17 years old, while children from 05 to 11 years old received 2 million 174,598 doses (first and second dose).

Exhortation

Given the advance of the fourth wave and the appearance of cases of the omicron subvariant, which would be more transmissible than the original lineage, the highest authority of Social Security urged the population to go to the vaccination clinics to receive the fourth dose that protects them of the coronavirus.

The official put emphasis on older adults, the age group that registers the highest number of deaths from coronavirus because they were not vaccinated or had incomplete their doses, according to a recent report.

“Vaccines are safe, effective and are also the best protection shield to prevent serious illness,” he said.

Vaccination centers

EsSalud has 120 vaccination clinics and 50 centers nationwide where the population can receive the SARS-CoV-2 vaccine. It also has 19 mobile vaccines.

In Lima, the Aljovín (Cercado de Lima), Plaza Norte (Independencia), Municipal Stadium of Surquillo, Municipal Sports Complex of San Isidro, San Borja Sports Center, San Isidro Labrador (Santa Anita) and Monumental Stadium (Ate) are enabled. .
