The Minister of Health, Hernando Cevallos, reported that next month the vaccination against COVID-19 to minors from 12 to 17 years old. It was after supervising the arrival tonight of a total of 702 thousand doses of vaccines from the Pfizer laboratory.

“Next month we will begin to vaccinate the little ones, because it is duly verified that there is no problem with the vaccine, in any of the brands. AstraZeneca it is being applied in many countries around the world and is certified by the World Health Organization, “he said.

Cevallos also welcomed the arrival in the country of a new batch of vaccines, which will allow the immunization of the population throughout the country to continue. The arrival of a new batch of 328 thousand 770 doses of vaccines from the Pfizer laboratory is expected in the next few days.

“It is an important batch that arrived today, there are 702,000 Pfizer vaccines. In this government we have achieved a very high vaccination rate, which has to do with the effort of all health workers in the country and the good will of a large part of the population, “he said.

The head of the Health sector also said that with the purchase of new vaccines the age range will continue to decrease, so that more Peruvians can access immunization. “We are over 75% of the population over 50 years vaccinated and we need to get closer to 80% before the end of the year. It is a difficult challenge because we have to reach the furthest places in the mountains and the jungle, but we are going to achieve it, “he added.

He recalled that 90% of the people who currently occupy ICU beds are those who do not have the two doses, so he reiterated the call to all those over 18 years of age to go to their nearest vaccination center. “The experience of the Rock Vaccine in the morning is the expression of the young people, who despite all the difficulties of the pandemic, are willing to go ahead and start the blended classes, with due protocol,” emphasized the minister.
