Covid-19: many dead in Italy, Brazil and the United States

The Covid-19 pandemic continues its macabre course around the world. And Europe is particularly bereaved, reported to the population. The epidemic has killed at least 2,671,720 people on the planet since its appearance, for more than 120,667,410 cases of infection. On Tuesday, 10,149 new deaths and 491,222 new cases were recorded worldwide. The countries that have recorded the most new deaths in their latest reports are Brazil with 2,841 new deaths, the United States (1,242) and Italy (502).

The United States is the most affected country in terms of both deaths and cases, with 536,922 deaths for 29,549,556 cases, according to the Johns Hopkins University count. After the United States, the most affected countries are Brazil with 282,127 deaths and 11,603,535 cases, Mexico with 195,119 deaths (2,169,007 cases), India with 159,044 deaths (11,438,734 cases), and the United Kingdom with 125,690 dead (4,268,821 cases). Among the hardest hit countries, the Czech Republic is the one with the highest number of deaths in relation to its population, with 223 deaths per 100,000 inhabitants, followed by Belgium (195), Slovenia (190), the Kingdom United (185) and Montenegro (183).

Europe totaled 904,677 deaths for 40,352,969 cases Wednesday at 11:00 GMT, Latin America and the Caribbean 725,270 deaths (22,991,917 cases), the United States and Canada 559,436 deaths (30,464,251 cases), the Asia 263,976 deaths (16,749,606 cases), the Middle East 108,978 deaths (6,020,085 cases), Africa 108,420 deaths (4,054,928 cases), and Oceania 963 deaths (33,661 cases).
