The Institute National Health reported this Monday, August 2, that in the departments of Guainía and Vaupés no new confirmed cases were reported. Similarly, the territories of Magdalena, Chocó, Putumayo, Arauca, Amazonas, San Andrés, Guaviare, Guainía and Vaupés did not report deaths due to covid-19.
Throughout the national territory, 6,636 new cases in the last hours. This, after 33,886 tests were processed (25,616 of PCR and 8,270 of antigens).
The figure reported this Monday is the lowest since March 24 when 5,986 were reported.

In the country, to date, 22,643,447 tests have been processed. Thus, Colombia reaches 4,801,050 confirmed coronavirus cases since the pandemic began, in March 2020.

On the other hand, the report shows 218 more deaths from the virus. With this update, the total number of deaths in Colombia amounts to 121,216. The last three days there has been a reduction in death figures.
In the last 24 hours, in addition, 10,422 recovered patients were reported. Thus, there are already 4,598,176 patients who, to date, have overcome covid-19 in the country.

In total, there are 67,940 cases that remain active in the country.
Bogota It is the city with the highest number of infections and registered 1,605 new cases, for a total of 1,417,642 infections. Then there is Antioquia, which adds 716,358 cases of covid-19, and later the department of Valle del Cauca is located, with 385,778 cases, ahead of the Atlantic, with 308,526 cases.
Refering to vaccination, 27.7 million vaccines against covid-19 have been applied in the country to date and 12,252,821 Colombians have been fully immunized after receiving the second dose or the single dose of Janssen.

The Ministry of Health also indicated that the delta variant of covid-19 has become the most prevalent in the world, precisely because of its contagion capacity. Hence the importance of getting vaccinated and maintaining biosecurity measures such as the correct use of a mask, constant hand washing, keeping physical distance and avoiding crowds.
