Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Allegations of laboratories in China being the origin of the Covid-19 virus re-emerging. The accusation this time comes from a report by the US Republican Party.
The report, released on Monday, has yet to be reached by US intelligence agencies. It contains a wealth of evidence that the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) scientists modified the coronavirus to infect humans as well as hidden manipulations.
It is said that WIV in work is assisted by experts from the US. Meanwhile the funds came from the US and the US.
Republican Representative Mike McCaul released a report by his party panel staff. He also urged an investigation into the origins of the pandemic, quoted from Reuters on Tuesday (3/8/2021).
Meanwhile, another theory that has developed from experts is that the pandemic is caused by an animal virus. The virus was likely transmitted to humans at a seafood market near WIV.
But the Republican report said it was time to ignore the source of the pandemic from the market. It is written if a lot of evidence points to the virus leaking from WIV.
“We also believe there is ample evidence that the virus did indeed leak from WIV and that it was before September 12, 2019,” the report said.
The report cites a so-called new and underreported information regarding safety protocols in the laboratory. Including a request for a malicious treatment system fix in July 2019.
Reports put the cost of the system at US$1.5 million for a facility that is not yet two years old. Meanwhile, in April, the US intelligence agency said it agreed with the scientific consensus that the virus was not man-made or genetically modified.
One month later, President Joe Biden asked US intelligence agencies to speed up the search for the origins of the virus. He requested that the report be available within 90 days.
According to a source, the US intelligence community has yet to reach a conclusion as to whether the virus has animal origin or WIV.
